DIG DEEP! Racial Justice
June 20, 2020 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm CDT

We offer this mini-retreat as a way to hold space and process what is happening in our communities and our nation in the fight to ensure #BlackLivesMatter. Together as a group, we will share ideas, resources, and actions for racial justice both in this moment and for the long haul. We will reflect in prayer and tap into how our faith and spirituality propels us forward. We’ll also feature speakers from local Darst Center partner agencies who will share their experiences on the ground in Chicago and the critical work they do. With time in group dialog and time for individual reflection, this retreat will be a touch-point for you to feel connected, rooted, and ready to move in concrete ways for racial justice.
We will gather from 10am – 4pm with breaks throughout, including a lunch break and time for individual reflection. To register, please see the eventbrite link below. Information on how to join the event, including the Zoom link, will be emailed to those who register.
What’s a DIG DEEP! Retreat?
Our DIG DEEP! Retreats offer opportunities for adults to explore the root causes of injustice in order to better understand ourselves and our world. While most of our programming at the Darst Center focuses on high school and college students, we know adults need time and space for this inner and outer work, too. We welcome you to take the opportunity to breathe a little deeper, reflect on what is on your heart, and share in our vibrant and encouraging community.
Cost: A suggested donation of $50-$75 per person includes financial support of the partner agencies joining us for the retreat.
