Whether consciously or not, many of us have absorbed the belief that if we let ourselves be in our grief, we will crumble and not be able to get back up and function. I believe the opposite is true–that creating intentional time and space to fully be in our grief is actually the tool for both functioning while actively grieving and integrating our grief more effectively into our lives and identities.
Move Your Grief is that intentional space. Using elements of meditation, both guided and unguided movement, art-making/journaling and verbal processing, I curate a space for the grief you hold in your body to move, be moved and ultimately transform.
Things to have/bring: Anything that makes your space feel sacred-candles, incense, photos etc, clothing and space to move freely in (doesn’t have to be much), a journal or something to write with, any art materials that call, tissues and water.
**In order to ensure your emotional safety and allow you to process anything that comes up following the group, it is ideal but not required for you to have some kind of support system in place, even one person, before signing up. This could include family, friends, a therapist and/or members of a spiritual/religious community. You are also welcome to join my Move Your Grief facebook group.
Please also plan to go slow the rest of the evening. This is deep work that will continue to reverberate.
Please RSVP above. You’ll receive a ticket via email with the link needed to access this gathering.
