For this special conversation, we will be joined by Liz Ramey, Director of Operations and Governance at Indivisible, and Austin Barbera, Press Secretary for Congressman Bobby Scott. Their experience in the political sphere will help guide us through this much-needed post-election conversation! Please join us if you can!
Austin Barbera (he/him/his) is a political communications professional. He is currently serving as the Press Secretary for Congressman Bobby Scott (VA-03). Before that he worked on the Democratic Staff for the House Committee on Education and Labor where he supported efforts to improve equity in education, free students from the burdens of crushing debt, protect and expands access to affordable health care, ensure workers have a safe workplace where they can earn a living wage free from discrimination, and guarantee seniors have a secure and dignified retirement.
Liz Ramey is the Director of Operations and Governance at Indivisible, where she has developed organizational policies and procedures grounded in the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion. She has held previous positions at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, Vital Voices, the Civil Service Agency of the Government of Liberia, and the International Food Policy Research Institute, and spent over two years working on adult education programs in Nairobi, Kenya. She holds an M.P.A. in International Affairs from Princeton University, an M.Sc. in African Studies from the University of Oxford, and a B.A. in Economics and Sociology from The George Washington University. She is passionate about supporting inclusive democracy in the U.S. and around the globe.
